Remit: Shady Woodland Enhanced by Elegant Landscaping to Mirror Victorian Garden
Remit: Shady Woodland Enhanced by Elegant Landscaping to Mirror Victorian Garden
Our client had this beautiful shaded woodland area around their impressive fire-pit in their elegant Victorian garden where little would grow and they required landscaping to bring some pattern and pleasing vistas to the offering.
After clearing the overhanging trees and overgrown branches, we exposed a beautiful and light window into the neighbouring fields with a spectacular view to enjoy when seated in the fire pit area. The client's preference was white, green and blue flowering shrubs for their design scheme.
Having researched the best possible shady plants for the area in the colour scheme required, I provided them with a design plan comprising natural walkways and designated flower beds with varying heights of plants to enhance the formality and scape of the various sections. These are the works in progress from winter to Spring - we are just waiting for the woodchip to go on the paths and I'll update you with some summer pictures soon! Watch this space!

Screen a fence with climbers and plant up patio raised beds with a design scheme including height and colour throughout the seasons with low maintenance required. Herb garden to be planted shortly and will update with photos in the coming weeks when the plants have established.
Remit: Planting scheme design to create cottage garden effect:
Remit: Planting scheme design to create cottage garden effect:
Carefully selecting cottage garden plants, best placed for the light and shady parts of the garden where they will flourish, re-shaping the garden to add interest, soften the edging and create a cottage garden effect with colour schemes displaying throughout the seasons. I'll update you with progress photos once the plants have established in the Summer.
Remit: Modernising the garden, bringing structure whilst remaining low-maintenance
Remit: Modernising the garden, bringing structure whilst remaining low-maintenance
Using the client's selection of plants but also adding more, here you can see the before and after images. I created a new design for the garden - a quarter of which is in permanent shade, and the rest of the garden which gets the sun most of the day. The front garden was required to be more appealing, so I utilised plants from the main garden to keep costs low and recycle quality plants. In the back garden, I brightened up the walls and fences with beautiful climbing plants and roses, also adding interest by creating a low-maintenance rockery with alpine plants. Will post updated photos in the Summer when the plants are established.
Remit: Rearrange very long flowerbed which had no real planting scheme
Remit: Rearrange very long flowerbed which had no real planting scheme
This client requested a raised bed make-over, utilising existing plants for their 15 metre border. Working with a hard-landscaper to lay the sleepers. which gave the flower bed definition and structure, I formed a cohesive pattern with the plants ensuring varied flowering throughout the seasons. Updated photos of the summer to follow!
